Freight & Courier Software with Parcel Tracking: Avadar Cargo

Freight & Courier Software with Parcel Tracking: Avadar Cargo

Avadar Cargo is P-Soft’s freight and logistics warehouse software: it registers shipments and parcels with labels, follows each load on an “in transit” board until delivery, and lets the recipient track their parcel with a unique code. This edition is for companies that receive other people’s goods, move them and hand them over to the recipient.

Cargo is one of three editions of Avadar inventory management software and is deliberately kept lean. If your business manufactures, Avadar Industry is the closer fit; if you are in trading or distribution, look at Avadar Trade.

Is Avadar Cargo a fit for your freight or courier business?

The more of these points ring true, the closer Cargo is to your day-to-day needs:

  • You accept multi-parcel shipments every day and each parcel needs its own label.
  • You need to know what stage each load is at and which driver or carrier took it.
  • Receiving and handover at peak hours have become slow and error-prone on paper.
  • Recipients keep calling to ask where their goods are.
  • You have several branches or warehouses, and each should see only its own loads.
  • You handle accounting and settlement elsewhere and just want an accurate operational system.

Managing shipments and parcels in a logistics warehouse

Batch registration of parcels; one label per parcel

In Cargo, the parcels of a shipment are registered together and a separate label is printed for each one. From then on each parcel is identified with a single scan, and nobody has to read numbers off paper by hand. Labels are produced from ready-made templates with proven print quality.

The “in transit” board: where is the load right now?

The “in transit” board follows each load from dispatch to delivery, and the driver and carrier are recorded for every dispatch. The operations manager sees at a glance what is out and in whose hands. The board shows the status recorded in the system; GPS vehicle tracking is not among Cargo’s listed features.

A scan desk for fast receiving, dispatch and delivery

The scan desk is where the busy daily work happens: an arriving parcel is scanned and received, a parcel ready for loading is scanned and dispatched, and handover is also recorded by scanning. Scanning works with a scanner or a phone camera, and the recipient’s signature is captured on the delivery note.

Parcel tracking for recipients, with no login

With a unique code and no user account, the recipient sees the status of their own load. The page shows only that parcel’s status, and no other information about the company or other customers is revealed. The practical result: fewer “where’s my parcel?” calls and more free time for support staff. Public tracking is enabled from the Pro plan.

Intercity freight software with separated branches

Intercity freight usually involves several branches or warehouses in different cities. In Cargo, each branch and each operator sees and moves only the loads in their own warehouse, and this separation is enforced in the data itself, not just on screen. Administrator, supervisor, operator and read-only auditor roles are available for dividing the work. On the Elite plan the number of branches is unlimited and full separation between them is kept, so adding a new office in another city doesn’t open that office’s loads to everyone else.

What does Cargo deliberately leave out?

Cargo is designed to be simple and focused, and modules that don’t serve transport work aren’t included:

  • Finance and accounting: keep freight charges, settlement and customer accounts in your current accounting software.
  • Production: product structure, production projects and scrap belong to the Industry edition.
  • Warranty and customer club: offered in the Industry and Trade editions.

Optimised fleet routing and cash-on-delivery settlement are also not among Cargo’s listed features. If you are still unsure whether you need logistics software or warehouse software, read our article on logistics vs. warehouse software and the warehouse inventory software guide.

Courier software in practice: a working day with Cargo (hypothetical example)

Imagine a freight company with two branches, in Isfahan and Tehran. This scenario is hypothetical and only shows how Cargo’s features fit together:

  1. Morning, receiving: a sender brings 12 cartons. The operator registers the shipment, 12 labels are printed and each carton is received at the scan desk.
  2. Midday, loading: the cartons are scanned as they are loaded, and the dispatch appears on the “in transit” board with the driver’s and carrier’s names.
  3. Afternoon, the recipient checks: instead of phoning, the recipient enters their unique code and sees the load’s status.
  4. Next day, handover at the destination branch: the Tehran operator scans and hands over the parcels, and the recipient’s signature is recorded on the delivery note. The Isfahan operator has no access to the Tehran warehouse’s loads, and vice versa.

At the end of the day the manager gets a complete picture from the dashboard, movement reports and Persian-language Excel export, while real-time phone notifications keep them informed.

Speed, security and deployment

Even with hundreds of thousands of items and parcels, Avadar opens pages in a fraction of a second. No installation is ever delivered with a default password, and every change made in the system is logged. You can run Cargo online on P-Soft hosting or on your own company server. Staff access it from a desktop or mobile browser, the Android app or a version installed on the phone’s home screen, and data stays viewable even if the internet goes down.

In Cargo, the Start plan (one warehouse, up to 5 users) includes shipments, the “in transit” board and the scan desk. The Pro plan (up to 5 warehouses, up to 20 users) adds public parcel tracking. The Elite plan gives unlimited branches with full separation. Limits and support details are finalised with the P-Soft team at purchase.

Avadar Cargo in short: shipment tracking software for freight and courier firms

Avadar Cargo is the transport edition of P-Soft’s Avadar warehouse software, made for courier, forwarding and 3PL-style operators that take in goods owned by others, move them between depots and hand them to the consignee. Every piece is labelled and scanned at each handover, loads are followed until delivery, and consignees look up their status with a personal code. It runs on P-Soft hosting or on your own server and is used from a browser, an Android app or a home-screen install.

Question Answer from the product sheet
What it covers Intake, piece labels, dispatch, in-transit follow-up and handover of third-party goods
What it leaves out Freight billing and other finance, production, warranty, customer club
Where it runs Online on P-Soft hosting, or on a server in your own company, even without internet access
Devices Desktop and mobile browsers, Android app, phone home-screen install; data stays viewable during outages
Plans Start: shipments, in-transit board and scan desk. Pro: consignee self-tracking by code. Elite: any number of branches, fully separated
Existing records P-Soft can bring over data kept in Excel or older software; the scope is set by plan and contract
Support Official P-Soft channel on every plan; phone help and setup training from Pro; priority handling and a dedicated account manager on Elite
Trying it A trial demo before purchase, arranged with P-Soft specialists

How to choose courier and parcel tracking software: a buyer’s checklist

  1. One label per piece, not per consignment. Multi-carton consignments fall apart when only the waybill carries an ID. Ask whether each carton gets its own scannable label; Cargo registers all pieces of a consignment together and prints one for each.
  2. A scan event at every handover. Intake, loading and delivery should each leave a record, so a missing carton can be traced back to the last point anyone saw it.
  3. Self-service status for consignees. Good tracking needs no account and exposes nothing beyond the one shipment. In Cargo this arrives with the Pro plan.
  4. Branch separation enforced in the data. If you expect to open more depots or franchise counters, confirm that each one is walled off at data level rather than merely hidden in menus.
  5. Hosting that fits your sites. Some operators must keep consignment data on their own premises; Cargo can sit on your server or on P-Soft hosting.
  6. A demo with your own consignment types. Bring real examples of awkward shipments to the trial session instead of judging from screenshots.

Cargo vs spreadsheets, paper waybills and chat groups

Daily task Paper, spreadsheet or messaging app Avadar Cargo
Identifying each carton Handwritten numbers, read and retyped Printed piece label, recognised with one scan
Knowing who holds a load Calls and chat messages to drivers Driver and carrier stored with every dispatch
Answering “where is it?” Staff look it up and call back Consignee checks with a personal code (Pro and Elite)
Proof of delivery A paper slip that can go missing Consignee signature stored on the delivery note
Privacy between depots One shared sheet every branch can open Each depot works only with its own warehouse’s loads
Change history New values overwrite old ones Every change in the system is logged
End-of-day overview Manual collation Dashboard, movement reports and Excel export

Spreadsheets remain handy for one-off analysis, and Cargo’s Excel export feeds them. As the system of record for parcels, though, they depend on every person typing correctly at the busiest hour of the day.

Rolling out Avadar Cargo in a freight business

  1. Review and demo: walk P-Soft specialists through your flow (intake counters, depots, handover points) and see it mirrored in the trial demo.
  2. Plan and hosting: choose Start, Pro or Elite by depot count, user count and whether consignees should track for themselves; then pick P-Soft hosting or your own server.
  3. Configuration: warehouses and branches, operator roles and label layouts are set up.
  4. Existing data: item lists or open records held in Excel or an earlier system can be migrated by P-Soft within the scope agreed for your plan and contract.
  5. Training and support: setup training and phone support come with Pro, Elite adds priority support and an account manager, and every plan keeps the official support channel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Avadar Cargo handle freight accounting and charges?

No. Cargo has no finance module; it is built for load, parcel and delivery operations.

How does the recipient track a parcel?

With their own unique code and no login, they see only the status of that load. This is available from the Pro plan.

How is Cargo different from Industry and Trade?

Cargo is for moving other people’s goods; Industry is for manufacturing plants, and Trade is for trading and distribution with formal approval workflows.

Can parcels be scanned with a mobile phone?

Yes. Both a phone camera and a scanner work, and there is also an Android app.

Does Cargo show a truck’s live location?

The “in transit” board shows the recorded status of the load and its driver and carrier; GPS tracking is not among the listed features.

To see the scan desk and parcel tracking in action, request an Avadar Cargo demo.

Can Avadar Cargo be used as 3PL warehouse software?

For the operational side, yes. Cargo is built for companies that receive goods owned by others, keep them in their depots, move them and hand them over, and each branch only sees its own loads. Billing is the part it does not do: storage fees, freight charges and settlements stay in your accounting package, because Cargo has no finance module. If you also need production or warranty tracking, compare the Industry and Trade editions.

Can we import our current shipment records from Excel or another system?

Yes. P-Soft migrates prior data, for example item lists or records kept in spreadsheets or older software, into its products. How much is moved and in what form depends on your plan and contract; on Elite, bringing over earlier data is part of the support package. Take a sample file to the demo so the specialists can check its structure before you commit.

What happens at a depot when the internet connection drops?

Avadar keeps data viewable during an outage, so staff at a depot can still look up loads and stock while the line is down. If some of your sites have unreliable connectivity, Cargo can also be installed on a server inside your own network, where it keeps running without internet access. Talk through your network layout in the demo to decide between P-Soft hosting and your own server.
