Parking Access Control System with Smart Cards & Tags
Nooradio is parking access control software that controls and logs vehicles and people entering and leaving with smart cards and tags: who, when and through which gate. Nooradio does not read license plates and uses no cameras; each vehicle passes with the tag or card issued to it.
In many residential and office complexes, the car park is the busiest and most contentious part of the building: remotes passed from hand to hand, unknown vehicles, lost cards that still open the gate, and a guard who can’t say who came in last night. A smart parking access control system is meant to turn that disorder into a clear, traceable record. This page explains what Nooradio access control software does in a complex’s car park, what it doesn’t do, and which plan suits which site.
Vehicle access control with tags: how does each car get through the gate?
Nooradio is installed on a computer on site and connected to the card readers at each gate. The administrator creates a profile for each person and registers all of that person’s cards and tags in a single form, for example one card for the pedestrian door and one tag for the car. From then on:
- The vehicle reaches the car park gate and its tag is read.
- The gate decides, based on the administrator’s settings, whether that tag is allowed.
- The passage, allowed or denied, is logged with the time and gate name and appears instantly on the guard station screen.
For each gate you can set entry only, exit only or both. One software instance controls several gates at once without conflicts, and when needed the guard can open the gate manually from within the software.
To be clear: Nooradio works only with smart cards and tags. License plate recognition, cameras and face recognition are not part of this product. If you are still weighing the two approaches, read our comparison of RFID tags vs. license plate recognition.
Allowed hours, open-entry mode and disabling lost cards
Good parking access control is more than “open or don’t”; it has to know who may enter, and when. In Nooradio:
- Allowed hours per group: you group people (for example residents, staff, contractors) and set the permitted weekdays, hours and holidays for each group.
- Instant card deactivation: if a resident loses a card or tag, you disable it on the spot without deleting their details, then add the new card to the same profile.
- Duplicate card warning: if a card is registered twice, the software warns you.
- Open-entry mode: for one gate, for example on the day of a ceremony or event, you can switch on open entry. In this mode every card registered in the software opens the gate while unregistered cards still don’t, so use it deliberately and register guest or event cards beforehand.
Live access monitoring with audible alerts for the guard station
A guard shouldn’t have to dig through reports to know what is happening in the car park. Nooradio shows every passage live: allowed or denied, entry or exit. The live view comes with an audible alert that can be muted when needed, and a full-screen mode designed for the guard station.
For the administrator, access history is searchable and filterable quickly, even at high volume, and report exports are available for building management or inspections. Passages can also be moved in bulk to the allowed or denied list. Operators and guards have narrower access: they monitor traffic and can open the gate manually from the software, while defining people and cards stays with the administrator.
If the link to the computer drops, the car park gate doesn’t get stuck
A common car park headache is a queue of cars stuck at the gate when the computer shuts down or loses connection. With Nooradio, if the gates lose their connection to the computer, the gates still make the correct allowed/denied decision on their own. This is included in every plan.
The Nooradio service runs around the clock, restarts itself if it stops and, if data becomes corrupted, restores from the last healthy backup. Manual backup is in every plan, and scheduled automatic backup with multiple copies is available from the Pro plan. Updates and repairs are carried out without losing records.
Parking capacity management and transferring card lists
In complexes with a limited number of spaces, parking capacity management automatically controls vehicle entry until a vehicle leaves. This feature is available only on the Nooradio Elite plan.
If you run several sites or want to move a complex’s cards from elsewhere, you can import card lists from a file or export them to a file without creating duplicate records. Adding a range of cards in bulk also speeds things up for complexes that hand out dozens of cards at once. Both features are available from the Pro plan.
Note: Nooradio does not calculate parking fees or collect payment. If you run a public car park with hourly rates, that part needs a separate solution.
Which plan is the best parking access control system for your complex?
The “best” system is the one that matches your number of gates and your real needs. The table below compares Nooradio plans for car parks:
| Feature | Nooradio Start | Nooradio Pro | Nooradio Elite |
|---|---|---|---|
| Best for | A building or office with a few doors | Complexes, factories and car parks | Large sites with heavy traffic |
| Number of gates (controllers) | Up to 2 | Up to 8 | Unlimited |
| People and cards, instant deactivation | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Live view, audible alert, full-screen mode | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Gates decide on their own when the link drops | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Grouping, bulk adding, file import/export | — | ✓ | ✓ |
| Allowed hours, open entry, entry/exit per gate | — | ✓ | ✓ |
| Advanced search, report export, automatic backup | — | ✓ | ✓ |
| Parking capacity management | — | — | ✓ |
As a general rule, a building with one car park gate and one pedestrian door usually starts with Start; a complex with several entrances that wants allowed hours per group moves to Pro; and if you have more than 8 gates or need parking capacity control, Elite is the right fit. Steps to get started
- Count your vehicle and pedestrian doors and gates.
- Define your access groups (residents, staff, regular visitors and so on) and the allowed hours for each.
- Pick a plan based on your number of gates and whether you need parking capacity control.
- Request a demo so the P-Soft team can coordinate installation and setup with you.
Car park access control software in short
Nooradio gives a residential tower, office complex or factory car park a tag-based gate system: each vehicle carries a registered tag or card, the gate checks it against the rules the administrator has set, and the guard station sees every passage the moment it happens.
It is installed on a computer at the site and linked to the readers at the vehicle gates, and the same installation can cover pedestrian doors. A quick reference for car park operators and building managers:
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Vehicle credentials | A smart tag or card assigned to each driver’s profile |
| Gates per plan | Start up to 2, Pro up to 8, Elite unlimited |
| Capacity control for limited spaces | Elite plan only |
| Time rules per group | Pro and Elite |
| Guard station | Live passages, audible alert that can be muted, full-screen mode, manual gate opening |
| Migrating an old system | Importing card lists from a file is part of Pro and Elite, and P-Soft staff can additionally transfer records from spreadsheets or earlier software within the scope of your plan or contract |
| Not included | Fee calculation and payment collection |
Choosing a car park access control system: a buyer’s checklist
Before comparing vendors, it helps to write down what your car park really needs. These questions apply to any product, and the notes show where Nooradio stands:
- How many vehicle and pedestrian gates do you have now, and how many in two years? Gate count is the main dividing line between Nooradio plans.
- What happens at the gate when the server or network fails? Ask every vendor this directly. With Nooradio, gates keep deciding on their own and the service restarts itself.
- Do residents, staff and service crews need different hours? If cleaners should only enter in the morning or contractors only on weekdays, you need group time rules, available from Pro.
- Are spaces fewer than permit holders? Then capacity control matters, which in Nooradio is part of Elite.
- Who runs the gatehouse day to day? Look for a live screen a guard can read at a glance, and separate rights so guards cannot edit the cardholder list.
- Can you leave your current remotes and stickers behind without retyping everything? File import and a migration service shorten that switch.
- Do you need fee collection? If yes, plan for a separate payment solution alongside any tag-based gate system, because Nooradio does not handle fees.
For a typical residential tower in the Gulf or a mid-sized office park, answering these questions usually narrows the choice down to one plan. For the wider building, see our access control software overview.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Nooradio read license plates?
No. Nooradio works only with smart cards and tags; it has no plate recognition, cameras or face recognition.
If the computer shuts down, will the car park gate stop opening?
If the link to the computer drops, the gates still make the correct allowed/denied decision on their own; this is included in every plan.
How do I disable a lost card?
The administrator disables the card in the software immediately, without deleting the cardholder’s details.
Which plan includes parking capacity management?
Only the Nooradio Elite plan.
Does Nooradio calculate parking fees?
No. Calculating and collecting parking fees is not a Nooradio feature.
Want to see how Nooradio would work with your complex’s car park gates? Request a Nooradio demo and the P-Soft team will be in touch.
Can the guard let in a visitor who has no registered card?
Yes. Operators and guards can open a gate manually from within Nooradio, for example after checking a visitor’s identity or a delivery note. Their rights are narrower than the administrator’s: they watch live passages and open gates when needed, but they cannot create people or register cards. That keeps day-to-day decisions at the gatehouse while the cardholder list stays under the manager’s control.
Can cleaners or contractors get car park access only at set times?
Yes, from the Pro plan. You place cleaners, contractors or any other service crew in their own group and set the weekdays, hours and holidays when that group may pass. Outside those windows their tags are refused at the gate and the attempt shows on the guard station screen. Residents and staff can sit in separate groups with their own rules, all managed from one installation.
Can we move resident tags over from our old car park system?
On Pro and Elite, card lists can be imported from a file without creating duplicate records, and a range of card numbers can be added in one go. If your current data lives in a spreadsheet or an older program, the P-Soft team can migrate it for you; how far that service goes is set out in your plan or contract, so mention it when you request a demo.
